Today we decided to go downtown to enjoy the National Cherry Blossom Festival with our friends, Page and Patrick. It was an unusually warm week and Thursday seemed like the coolest day to go check them out. We wanted to avoid the large weekend crowds. Well, I should have done some better research about the blooming period...

Although the Cherry Blossom Festival lasts through this weekend, the blooming period ended on April 5th...oops.It was a beautiful day and a lot of people were enjoying the paddle boats around the tidal basin
We also enjoyed a nice picnic on the National Mall
It was Patrick's first trip to D.C.!
