The Cherry No-Blossom Festival!

Today we decided to go downtown to enjoy the National Cherry Blossom Festival with our friends, Page and Patrick. It was an unusually warm week and Thursday seemed like the coolest day to go check them out. We wanted to avoid the large weekend crowds. Well, I should have done some better research about the blooming period...

Although the Cherry Blossom Festival lasts through this weekend, the blooming period ended on April 5th...oops.

It was a beautiful day and a lot of people were enjoying the paddle boats around the tidal basin

We also enjoyed a nice picnic on the National Mall

It was Patrick's first trip to D.C.!

Easter Sunday

Finger Foods

We've been trying more and more finger foods over the past two weeks. Peas and green beans seem to be a big hit!

Believe it or not, this is a scream of delight!

The kids were drawing some great pictures and cards for Larry. I especially like this one. Apparently, Larry is dreaming of a GIANT cupcake and sippy cup!

It seems Larry has climbed a giant cake pedestal with an enormous fork and spoon.

Remembering Larry

Today, we remember the original Larry Jennings. He was an incredible man in so many ways. The first time I met him was at a restaurant for a family dinner. I instantly observed the love he had for his wife and family. However, what particularly struck me was how he looked at his son. He just beamed when he looked at Jon. I already see Jon looking at our little Larry in the same way.

Larry, I'm sure you are still beaming over what a great job that Jon is doing!
