Bruised

Larry had his first major injury yesterday. He tripped at the playground and hit his head on the play set. I could not believe how quickly his head swelled up. He has a big bruise on his brow, but we are thankful the swelling has gone down a bit.

Can you guess who was more upset about this fall? Larry or Mommy?

Peace Out, Paci!

Larry turned 18 months on Saturday, the day we returned from vacation. I told Jon that as soon as we were home we were getting rid of the pacifier. Larry uses the pacifier at nap time and bed time so his nap on Sunday was the first test and he did fantastic! He went to bed great on Sunday night as well. Jon and I stayed up late on Sunday to catch the end of the Redskins vs. Cowboys game. When I turned on the monitor around 11:30pm to check on Larry, he was squirming around and making some noise, but NOT crying. Jon convinced me that he must be cold and I should go in and cover him up. BIG mistake...when will we ever learn. After an hour of trying to get him to go back to sleep, I caved and he didn't make a peep for the rest of the night. Monday's nap time was at Grandma and Grandpa's. After ten minutes of fussing, he fell asleep. And Monday night I just kept telling Larry, "you can do this, I love you, you can do this." And he did it! Let's hope the rest of the week goes as smoothly!

Summer Vacation

We vacationed in Rehoboth Beach, DE for a week with three other couples. We had THE best time and we didn't want to come home. We will definitely make it an annual tradition.

Hair Party!!

Larry had his very first haircut today. We were lucky enough to have a professional in-home haircut right on our kitchen table. Bye-bye curls! :(

Clemyjontri Park

We visited Clemyjontri Park in McLean again--this time with our camera in hand. Our poor Lar Bear is sick with an ear infection so we've been pretty homebound the past couple days. I took him for a two mile stroll in the morning for some fresh air and then it was off to the park. The main reason for our visit--the carousel. I'm not sure who likes to ride it more--Larry or Jon. We can't believe our big boy sits on the horse and holds on all by himself!
