Larry LOVES to open up the wine refrigerator. Here he is cooling off after our run today...

And these two...I didn't know our architect was sending over someone from his office to take pictures of the house today. Cody and Copper gave her a very friendly greeting! She said, "I'm not a dog person and I just kept thinking, 'I hope they don't bite me.'" Seriously? Do they look like Cujo?

Cafe Play

We visited the "At Play Cafe" in Reston today with friends, Megan and Abby. The cafe has a small, enclosed play area with staff to watch the kids and tables for moms to have a cup of coffee, surf the web, or chat with friends. Since I am a germaphobic, overprotective mother, I insisted on staying in the play area with Larry the whole time while I talked over the wall to Megan.

After play time, we stayed to have lunch. They serve "mommy and me" meals that include an entree and three sides. The side dish choices were fruit, applesauce, cheese, raisins, and cheerios. It was kind of cute. Larry and I had a chicken quesadilla with sides of applesauce, strawberries, and cheerios.

Here is a picture of Abby and Larry waiting for their food and holding hands...

Creepin'

Our creeping phlox is really blooming! It looks so pretty!

One of our neighbors walked by when I was taking pictures and called it "magnificent." Too bad the blooms don't last longer!

I will post more pictures when our snow damaged plantings are replaced next week!

The Cherry No-Blossom Festival!

Today we decided to go downtown to enjoy the National Cherry Blossom Festival with our friends, Page and Patrick. It was an unusually warm week and Thursday seemed like the coolest day to go check them out. We wanted to avoid the large weekend crowds. Well, I should have done some better research about the blooming period...

Here we are with the Cherry Blossom trees with NO blossoms--can you see the shock on Larry's face?
Although the Cherry Blossom Festival lasts through this weekend, the blooming period ended on April 5th...oops.

It was a beautiful day and a lot of people were enjoying the paddle boats around the tidal basin

We also enjoyed a nice picnic on the National Mall

It was Patrick's first trip to D.C.!

Larry was most interested in the grass in his Easter basket!

Playing with his Easter Bunny puppet

Meeting the Easter Bunny at brunch

Going for the grass again

Chatting with his cousin Bree

Sitting with Aunt Larlyn and cousins Jenna, Jamie, and Cara

Tried to snap a quick picture before Larry and Bree squirmed off their laps!

After brunch we went to Grandma and Grandpa Trotter's while daddy played golf with Grandma Jennings and Aunt Larlyn
